Our year 10 Duke of Edinburgh group spent 2 days and 1 night at Blackland farm as their practice expedition.

The pupils stayed in tents, cooked a meal outdoors and worked as a team to complete two routes walking in the local countryside. Some of the pupils highlights were: ‘The hiking’, ‘making a fire’, ‘cooking a fajita Pizza’, ‘working in teams’ and ‘Falling in the mud’.

The year 10s will continue to work on their skills towards their assessed expedition in June to complete the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award.

The school is making such a difference to the lives of our young people. I am immensely proud of all that you are achieving.

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council
