Results Day!

It feels like the summer has flown by and we’re already here –GCSE results day!

The sun was shining on the school’s courtyard this morning as teachers awaited their Year 11s collecting results, and it wasn’t long before students and their families nervously came out to see Principal, Mr Watkins, and their teachers to find out their grades. What started as nerves was quickly followed by a sigh of relief as everyone opened a set of fantastic results! Every student received a huge round of applause and cheers from staff members who were beaming with pride, before having photos taken proudly holding their certificates that they had worked so hard to achieve.

Mr Watkins is elated with the students’ results, saying “it’s been an emotional morning seeing students open their results. This is the best year to date for the school’s results and I’m so proud of our students.”

The results this year really have been outstanding, with a 100% pass rate for GCSE Science, and 100% of students going on to further education.

One parent was telling us about the journey her daughter has taken and how she is so proud of her daughter’s achievements, saying, “everyone wrote her off saying she’d never achieve anything, but here we are today collecting her GCSE results. I cannot describe how amazing this school is and what the staff have done for her.”

We’d like to wish huge congratulations to all our students this year, we’re so proud of you all for your commitment and dedication during your time at Carew Academy; you’re living embodiment of our motto: Let’s Show What We Can Do!

The school is making such a difference to the lives of our young people. I am immensely proud of all that you are achieving.

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council
