Trip to Brighton

Washington DC class enjoyed a trip to sunny Brighton to explore part of our curriculum –  transport. They used public transport to get to their destination and along the way, learnt how to use an oyster card, how to behave appropriately and followed school trip safety measures. Students enjoyed the beach and spent a lot of time paddling in the sea. A few students in our class have anxieties, including travelling and a fear of crowds. Trips like this teach, encourage and push them forward in a safe environment and with the care of a teacher. Students really enjoyed being at the coast, having lunch outdoors and eating ice creams. Some students walked along the pier and even had a ride on one of the carousels. It was lovely day that resulted in positive experiences, fun, bonding and friendships.

The school is making such a difference to the lives of our young people. I am immensely proud of all that you are achieving.

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council
