Walking in a Winter Wonderland

GCSE Maths pupil from Lisbon class went on a visit to Winter Wonderland on Tuesday 28th November. They experienced the chills of a magic ice kingdom and discussed negative numbers in a real life context, saw a circus performance and discussed measures and units in a real life setting, and saw the city from the big wheel, looking at estimating distance and converting measurements.

It was a great day, with the pupils enjoying the sights and sounds and everyone following a complex and challenging public transport route with lots of changes, and discussing timings of changes and looking at timetables. A wonderful day of Maths in Action at Winter Wonderland, and a pleasure for the pupils to have such a smile on their faces!

The school is making such a difference to the lives of our young people. I am immensely proud of all that you are achieving.

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council
